For this project the brief was to establish a new heating solution for the building and this involved a full thermal model of the building using state-of-the-art software and in tandem with this data logger probes were mounted in strategic locations to allow actual data to be utilised in formulising the results. Once the modelling was complete multiple options were considered for retaining the heat in the building through insulation options and draft lobbies coupled with various heating and controls options bearing in mind, as a protected structure that conservation was a primary and maintaining integrity here was paramount. The outcome of the preferred solution was totally sympathetic with the conservation concerns.
